Who Owns Your Life?
Take back control of your time, money and attention
(💡don’t miss the quick vote at the end of this email - Should I build this free resource for you?)
Who Owns Your Life?
A few years back, I had the life I used to dream about when I was younger.
A thriving mortgage business. Good money. A nice house. Holidays on the calendar.
From the outside, it might have looked like I had it all figured out.
But if I’m honest with you?
I didn’t feel like the owner of my life.
My calendar was full - but none of it felt like mine.
My income was high - but I had no real freedom.
My energy was spent - mostly on other people’s goals.
That’s when it hit me…
👉 I wasn’t owning my life. I was outsourcing it.
To my clients.
To my team.
To my bills.
To expectations I never consciously agreed to.
I had built success… but not freedom.
Because ownership isn’t just about income. It’s about having the power to make your own choices and direct your own life.
We outsource without even realizing it...
We hand over our mornings to our inbox.
Our mental space to our debt.
Our creative energy to social media.
Our dreams to “maybe someday.”
It’s like we’re leasing our own lives.
Paying in stress and second-guessing… While someone else drives.
It happens slowly too.
You say yes to the career that feels “secure.”
You take on the loan because that’s what everyone does.
You stay in the routine that looks responsible - even if it doesn’t feel right.
And before you know it, your time, your money, and your choices…
They’re all on someone else’s terms.
Steve Jobs once said,
“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life.”
But here’s the thing: You don’t need to be a billionaire tech visionary to take that advice.
You just need to start reclaiming the parts of your life you’ve been giving away.
So how do you take ownership back?
Own your time
Start small. Block out 1-3 hours a week just for you and your dream. No guilt. No multitasking. Just creation.
Audit your inputs.
What’s running your day? Emails? Algorithms? Obligations? If something gets your attention before you choose to give it, that’s a red flag.
Own your money
Know where it goes. Make it work for you, not just your bills or debt. Ownership means intention, not just income.
Start asking “Who decided this?”
That job you’re still in. That payment plan you said yes to. That belief that you “have to” do things a certain way. Start challenging it all. Ownership begins with awareness.
Own your attention
If your scroll time exceeds your soul time - it’s time to reassess. Attention is currency. Spend it where it counts.
Make one brave decision this week - just for you.
Write the plan. Skip the scroll. Invest in the skill. Decline the invite.
It doesn’t need to be big. But it needs to be yours.
The truth is: no one’s coming to give you ownership.
You have to take it.
And that doesn’t mean you have to flip your life upside down today.
But maybe today’s the day you stop outsourcing your future - and start taking it back, piece by piece.
Because this isn’t about hustle. It’s about ownership.
And you deserve to live a life that’s actually yours.
👉 A few of you have asked… so I’m thinking of building a free Resource Vault 📚👀
-Books that shaped my mindset around money, business, life.
-Podcasts that lit a fire in me.
-Courses I took, tools & programs I use - stuff that actually moved the needle in both businesses I built.
-Zero fluff. Just the real game-changers.
Would that be helpful? (please vote below 👇 if enough say yes, I’ll build it)
